Our Chairman and Co-Founder, Dr. Tony Bello, is a highly acclaimed food scientist and entrepreneur with over 30 years of professional and business experience with United States Fortune 500 Companies, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) in Nigeria. Under his leadership the Company has established strategic B2B and B2G partnerships with US- and Nigeria-based food and agribusiness companies, recruited top notch Executive Leadership Team and global and local talents to originate and implement deals and transactions in Nigeria, the United States and the Caribbean. Dr. Bello is currently involved in deal origination and project implementation with Elephant Group Plc. (Lagos-Nigeria), Pacific Ring West Africa (Abuja-Nigeria), AfricaGlobal Schaffer (Washington DC, USA), Fayus Inc. (Sacramento-California, USA), JPG Resources (Battle Creek-Michigan, USA), Von Foods (Abia State, Nigeria), H2AFoods (Lagos-Nigeria), Edo State Government (EDSG), Niger State Government (NGSG), and other public and private sector players in Nigeria.
Dr. Bello has consulted for leading food companies in the United States, China, Taiwan, Trinidad & Tobago, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Mexico, Netherlands, Nigeria and others. The companies include the renowned Kellogg Company, PepsiCo Frito-Lay, Heinz-Kraft, 3D Corporate Solutions, Idapro and Wisconsin Potato Dehydration Processing, Pro-Health Potato Company and several pet food and potato dehydration processing companies. Dr. Bello was Principal Scientist at Frito-Lay and Kellogg Company where he achieved four United States and European patent awards for his innovative work on raw potato dough formulations for making stackable crisps and on products and processes for making RTE-breakfast cereals and cereal bars fortified with DHA Omega-3 fatty acids for brain health and nutrition.
In his previous role as an agribusiness specialist at UNDP and FMARD, Dr. Bello served as Senior Technical Adviser on Agribusiness to the erstwhile Honorable Minister, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, now President, African Development Bank (AfDB) where he played key roles in attracting over $5 billion private sector investment commitment to Nigeria’s Agriculture Transformation Agenda (ATA) and the institutionalization of Nigeria’s agribusiness sector in less than three years. Dr. Bello served as Nigeria’s National Coordinator on the Micro Reforms for African Agribusinesses (MIRA) leading to the passage of Nigeria’s Fertilizer Quality Control Bill and the finalization of the Nigeria’s Seed Council Draft Bill with funding by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA).
Dr. Bello earned his doctorate degree in Food Science (specializing in cereal chemistry) from Texas A&M University (1989) and his Master’s (1982) and Bachelor’s (1980) degrees from Alabama A&M University.
